Very informal and different to the usual accomadation. Very Morroc
We would have liked to be able to get some light refreshment especially as this accomadation location had no where nearby to get any. It was a long way to walk to the Souk and Square. We were glad we at least could make a cup of tea in our room as I took a travel kettle etc.
Excellent value for money, authentic Marrakech experience.
Location was difficult to find from the main square. Make sure you buy a map before you travel because they don't sell any at this riad.
The rooms are clean, unique and the terrace is great. The hotel staff are kind and accomodating, though the night security guide only speaks French (not Spanish or English). We used the 15 euro cab ride (split between 4 people) to get from and to the airport since it´s a bit confusing. The location is difficult to find, but once you´ve done it a few times you start to understand your way around. Be sure to bring your map that the hotel provides to ask people for directions or help! Overall great location, right in the heart of the Medina.
There are no eating options near the hotel. You either have to leave the Medina or go the square to find food. The breakfast was good, but very carb-based. Only bread and crepes, no cheese or meat or fruit. The food at the hotel is very expensive. We had sandwich for 6 euros, which isn´t horrible for Europe but very expensive for Morocco. You can´t pay with credit card, only in case (euros or dirham).
Friendly staff, nice building and good price
The staff dont speak much English and as we didn't speak French we had a small amount of trouble asking for things
In Medina, quiet
Touts around trying to get money for giving directions you already have on the map
The terrazze on the marrackesh
Lovely rooms, although those on the top floor were best as you could open the windows and get a breeze in - the lower ones were under the ridiculous plastic courtyard covering turning it into a sauna! breakfast was lovely up on the tented roof terrace. An untouristy authentic place to stay.
The welcome was odd - the hostess disappeared as we arrived and left us with a night guard who spoke limited english which didnt help as we were trying to sort out a query with some of the rooms we had booked and the payment. She didnt appear the next morning either, although the lady who served us breakfast was very sweet and helpful. The place is okay to find with their map, but getting out of the souk onto the right street proved a bit difficult after food in the square in the evening, especially as the medina gets locked up at night - we paid a local lad 10dh to get us as far back as the marrakesh museum and from there it was easy.
Siham the manager is very helpful. She picked us up at bab elkhemis when we arrived. The girl(forgot the name) that assisted Siham in the kitchen was also very nice. So did Murad the security man.The riad is close to Jemaa El Fna and the sketch from the riad is useful. There is a space on the 2nd floor to dry your clothes.
Exellent location in de medina of Marakech. Staff is very friendly
Nothing comes to my mind.
Impossible location. Unless you want to pay one of the many so-called "guides" that exist in Marrakesh, my advice, if you dont want to spend 15€ on the transfer is: call the Riad as soon as you get to Marrakesh and arrange a meeting point acessible to taxi and get them to pick you up there!! The Riad itself is a disapointment. Not worth the 30 euros we've spent...more like 20 euros value. The staff was ok but not very helpful since he spoke very bad french and almost no english. Not many memories
The room was nice. The Air Conditioner was working good!
It´s very difficult to find the Riad, even the local people had problems finding it. The room doesn´t smell very good, like feet transpiration.
Very clean hotel. Nice decor, good atmosphere and a good breakfast.
This hotel was extremely difficult to find.
I loved the room I stayed in. It was extremely clean. I also liked how it was situated in the old Medina, and near a lot of cute shops.
It was almost impossible for me to find alone... we ended up having to call the hotel and having them meet us at a more central location and the staff came to pick us up. We were also informed by the staff that the address on Booked.net is just their mailing address - not the actual hotel location. Since it's located in the old Medina (with no maps online), so I would recommend future visitors to call them when arriving in Marrakech to be picked up.
Location: near to the Medersa and Marrakech museum and pretty near from place Jamaa el Fna, staff.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Very peaceful place which is nice after spending time in the Medina
It's actually a fair walk from the main square and is quite hard to find on your way home in the dark (although the staff do give you a map) There was also no water on our final morning - the staff were working very hard to try and sort it out though.
